Helping to create future memories

We want to celebrate the incredible diversity of parks and green spaces in the Bristol and Bath area. At the heart of our parks are local communities, volunteers and Friends groups and we would like to strengthen these connections. We would also like to reach out to new partners from the business community and like-minded organisations offering support.

What we are doing

Our aim is to support the great things that can happen in your park. It could be an idea to connect more people with their park, to reduce social isolation or provide eco-therapy. It might be a well-loved feature of a park that is at risk or a project that will enhance nature and biodiversity. We want to make parks better places to meet, play, learn, grow, breathe and enjoy nature together.

Our background

The Bristol & Bath Parks Foundation was created through the ‘Rethinking Parks’ programme funded by National Lottery Community Fund, National Lottery Heritage Fund and Nesta, supporting innovative solutions to sustain our parks and green spaces. The Foundation will not take over the ownership or management of parks, but identify projects and partnerships that will enhance and revitalise these important spaces.

Staff & Trustees

During the summer of 2019, we have built a small team of staff and new Trustees to guide the charity into the future. The new Trustees are from diverse backgrounds and bring with them the variety of skills needed to build relationships locally and beyond.

It is an independent charity with its own Board of Trustees, who will work in partnership with the Councils in Bristol and Bath & North East Somerset to be able to implement projects and activities in parks.
More details about our governance and our charitable objects are available on the Charity Commission website.

Your Park is an initiative created by Bristol & Bath Parks Foundation. It is designed to engage audiences in sharing their stories about parks and hopes for the future and will be the landing site for our projects and fundraising activities.
